Washington Monthly magazine gives UL 69传媒 high marks

The University of Louisiana at 69传媒 is ranked No. 281 in Washington Monthly magazine鈥檚 2019 College Guide and Rankings.

Washington Monthly considered a total of 1,732 four-year, private and public colleges and universities for its 2019 National University Rankings, before winnowing that number down to 395.

UL 69传媒 was also included in the publication鈥檚 鈥淏est Bang for the Buck鈥 category. According to the magazine鈥檚 website, the category recognizes schools for 鈥渉ow well they help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.鈥

The 鈥淏est Bang for the Buck鈥 category is broken down into five geographic regions. UL 69传媒 ranked No. 103 among 203 four-year schools in the South.

Washington Monthly鈥檚 rankings are based on three factors. The first is social mobility, which gives colleges credit for enrolling many low-income students and helping them earn degrees. The second recognizes research production, particularly at schools whose undergraduates go on to earn doctorates. The third is service.

Stanford University was the top-ranked university in the national rankings. Harvard University was next, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University and Duke University. The University of Pennsylvania, the University of California-San Diego, Princeton University, Georgetown University and Texas A&M University rounded out the top ten.

Washington Monthly is a nonprofit magazine based in Washington, D.C. that covers U.S. politics and government.

Since 2005, the magazine has published annual rankings of four types of institutions: liberal arts colleges, baccalaureate colleges, master's universities and national universities.
